The People of Guildford Farm
A farm is never just a place. It's the people who care for it.
It takes a village to bring a farm back to life — and Guildford Farm is lucky to have a rather wonderful one.
From farming families and animal lovers to history keepers, practical problem-solvers, enthusiastic volunteers and the next generation of Farm helpers, each person brings something different. Some have deep roots in Guildford; others are discovering the Farm through family, friendship and a willingness to lend a hand.
Together, they are helping shape what Guildford Farm can become.
The People Shaping the Farm
Lester Snooke
Rural Steward & Farm FixerAn agronomist who runs an agribusiness with Pip, Lester brings practical farming knowledge and a deep connection to WA agriculture to the Farm. Alongside Nicole, he helps shape its direction — and when something needs fixing, building, moving or figuring out, Lester is usually the person people turn to.
Pip Snooke
Farm & Equestrian SupportPip runs an agricultural supply business with Lester and brings that practical farming connection to Guildford Farm. She is always ready to lend a hand — whether it's helping with the horses, cleaning up or simply getting stuck into whatever needs doing.
Dr Nicole Laurence
Veterinarian, Animal Care & EducationGuildford Farm was very much born from Nicole's vision for what this special place could become. A veterinarian with more than 30 years of experience, she has gone above and beyond to bring that vision to life, shaping the Farm around her love of animals, nature, education and the Guildford community.
Sam Yuen
Construction & RestorationWith more than 20 years of experience in construction, Sam brings his expertise to the practical restoration and development of the Farm. From the cottage and stables to the dairy, he is the person helping turn plans into solid, practical work — with the construction know-how and tools to make it happen.
Jackie Kho
Website & Digital DesignJackie brings her design and digital skills to creating Guildford Farm's online home. She helps share its story, showcase its people and projects, and keep the wider community connected with what is happening at the Farm.
The Helping Hands
Allan
Farm VolunteerBy day, Allan works in the NDIS sector; in his spare time, he has given an extraordinary amount of it to Guildford Farm. Painting, cleaning, tidying, fixing and helping wherever he can, his time and dedication have made a huge difference to the Farm.
Bill
Gardens & GroundsA retired doctor, Bill has taken to the Farm with the same quiet determination he probably applied to everything else in life. He can usually be found in the garden, tidying, pruning, fixing or simply spotting the next thing that needs doing — often before anyone else has noticed it.
Cody
Farm & Community VolunteerCody is a chef by day and an important member of the Farm's clean-up crew whenever he's not in the kitchen. He also puts his sharpening skills and rather impressive equipment to good use, keeping the neighbourhood's knives beautifully sharp while lending a hand around the Farm.
Lesley
Local History & HeritageLesley helps keep the stories of Terrace Road alive, sharing her knowledge of the people, places and history that have shaped this special part of Guildford. Her stories help connect the Farm's future with the generations who came before.
Pat
Farm Family & SupportA retired senior nursing leader and Nicole's mum, Pat brings a lifetime of caring for people to the Farm. She's always ready to lend a hand — and has taken on the important job of making sure Nicole actually remembers to take a break.
Some have grown up around Guildford, some have found the Farm through family and friends, and some have simply been recruited along the way.
Two strawberry beds, three horses, a whole lot of clean-up and at least one metal-detector find later, they're already making their mark.
Abby
Horse Care & Farm ProjectsNicole's daughter, Abby is another pair of willing hands around the Farm — helping with the horses, the tack room and pretty much anything her mum asks. Like the rest of the next generation, she has learned that “Can you help?” is often not so much a question.
Addi
Social EngagementAn Old Guildfordian and Jake's partner, Addi brings her bubbly personality and passion for the beautiful land and people that make Guildford what it is. She brings enthusiasm for the outdoors and the community to the Farm, helping build connections and share its story.
Belinda
Farm Volunteer & Strawberry GardenThe undisputed leader of the strawberry beds, Belinda has taken on the important task of planting and tending the Farm's strawberries. We're looking forward to seeing where her leadership — and the strawberries — takes us.
Cayden
Farm Volunteer & Clean-Up CrewCayden is another reliable member of the Farm's clean-up crew, pitching in whenever there's a big job to tackle. Like several members of the next generation, he has discovered that being part of the Farm can occasionally mean being “volunteered”.
Dylan
Farm Explorer & VolunteerDylan loves spending time at the Farm with his metal detector, exploring the grounds and seeing what he might uncover. He's also part of the clean-up crew — because apparently treasure hunting comes with responsibilities.
Jake
Horse Care & Farm VolunteerJake is always ready to lend a hand and has become a familiar and very helpful presence around the Farm. He has been particularly busy making sure the horses are comfortable, with fences and poles next on his list.
Molly
Farm Projects & VolunteerLester and Pip's daughter, Molly has been getting stuck into Farm projects big and small. Alongside Abby and Allan, she has helped transform an empty room into a beautiful and practical tack room.
Tristan
Farm VolunteerLester and Pip's son and another member of the clean-up crew, Tristan has been pitching in to help tidy and care for the Farm. He's part of a growing group of young people discovering that there is always something to do when you're at a farm.
And This Is Only the Beginning
Guildford Farm is being shaped by people who give their time, share their skills and simply care enough to lend a hand.
We're looking forward to welcoming more of the Guildford community into the story. Whether you have a skill to share, a little time to give, a story about Terrace Road, or simply feel like getting your hands dirty — there's always room for another pair of hands.
